Hi, I’m James Eric Fletcher, and my journey has always been guided by a simple but powerful truth: compassion can change lives—both human and animal. For as long as I can remember, pets have been a source of comfort, companionship, and unconditional love. Over the years, many animals found their way into my home because they had no one else, and I could never bring myself to turn them away. Each rescue strengthened my belief that responsible pet ownership begins with education, understanding, and heart.
Alongside my passion for animals, I’ve dedicated the past 20 years to caring for people as a Registered Nurse, with most of my career spent in Labor and Delivery. Working with families during their most vulnerable and beautiful moments has shaped who I am in profound ways—teaching me patience, empathy, and the importance of nurturing new life. These values naturally flow into my writing and the message I hope to share with families everywhere.
My journey as an author is guided not just by my love for animals, but by two decades of serving others as a Registered Nurse—most of them in Labor and Delivery. In 2012, I was honored with the Daisy Award for Extraordinary Nurses at St. Agnes Medical Center in Fresno, CA, a recognition that affirmed my commitment to compassion in all its forms. Whether supporting a family through childbirth or rescuing an animal in need, I’ve always believed that kindness creates ripples. Through my writing, I hope to extend those ripples even further—touching families, inspiring young hearts, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of pets everywhere.
For 20 years, I’ve served as a Registered Nurse, with most of those years dedicated to Labor and Delivery. It’s a place where life begins, where emotions run deep, and where compassion is not just appreciated—it’s essential. Helping families welcome their newborns into the world taught me empathy, patience, and the tremendous responsibility of caring for a vulnerable life. Those same values guide my writing and my mission as an advocate for animals.
